START POINT: Whitman County Library, 102 S. Main St, Colfax, WA 99111. From I-90, east or west, take US195 south toward Pullman. Colfax is approximately 1 hour south. US 195 is Main Street in Colfax. The library is located on the right. There is parking available behind the library, on the side by US Bank, and Mill Street (one block east of Main). Ask for the start box at the checkout counter. TRAIL DESCRIPTION: The route is on paved surfaces, sidewalks, and rail beds through the historical downtown of Colfax, Washington. The walk does contain one set of cement steps to reach the trail on the levee along the Palouse River.
